William Magee Borgersen, affectionately known as Willy, tragically lost his life in Savannah, Georgia, due to a shooting accident. A cherished member of the Westwood, New Jersey, community, William spent most of his life surrounded by family and friends who deeply loved him.
After graduating high school, William pursued a military career and proudly served as a member of the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
Willy was known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and joyful spirit. His positive outlook and genuine warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew him, even in brief encounters. His love and bright light continue to shine through all who remember him.

A pre-dawn knock on our front door on October 7, 2022, changed our lives forever. William's passing will never make sense to us, and the sadness is with us every day. We are learning to live around the sorrow and continue our journey with heavy hearts overflowing with love for our sweet Willy. We strive to honor William every day.
We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support and kindness from friends and family, near and far. We hope all who knew William will continue to share memories, reminisce, and perhaps enjoy a good "Willy chuckle" along the way. His spirit lives on through all who loved and knew him and who are with us as we celebrate his memory.
This Memorial Fund is our way of honoring and serving the communities William cherished. It gives us purposeful work, focus, and opportunities to gather in Willy's fun-loving spirit.
